Klaas de Vries Jr. schreef op forum van Crimes of Persuasion over de ondekking van abn-ambro.com - een kakel verse fake bank site in gebruik t.b.v. Nigeria 419 fraud - en de trage behandeling van zijn melding door de echte ABN-AMRO. Klaas blies beetje Hoog van den Toorn maar er gebeurde niks, tot dat door Klaas getipte Reet er een pots van maakte en de Webwereld bij ze an de telfoon hing. Toen was het dezelfde avond al goed geregeld en werd de oplichters site uitgeschakeld.

Story starts with a posting on Nigerian Scambaiting Board http://www.b2g4.com/boards/board.cgi?action=read&id=1091146128&user=akerenx about obvious fake bank ABN-AMBRO http://abn-ambro.com . Insecure login, phoney address, mobile phone, the usual crap.

ABN-AMRO (without the B) happens to be one of the largest Dutch banks. With the misleading name (and great google credibility, amazing how often it is misspelled like this, see [4]) people are being conned, as it is or will be used by Nigerian advanced fee scammers.
I sent a short mail to the bank to warn them about it.

Hartelijk dank voor u anwoord betreffend mijn waarschuwing smail mbt http://www.ABN-AMBRO.COM . Het is duidelijk een nep bank. Insecure login, vals adres ga maar door. Ik zou heel graag door de beslissingsbevoegde op de hoogte worden gehouden van de voortgang van zaken. (I would like to stay informed about proceedings by the concerning decision maker) Ik ben zo nodig in staat u in deze kwestie deskundig te informeren over wat u nu te doen staat. (If needed I can give you expert information on how to handle this)

Uw vorige antwoord liet 9 dagen op zich wachten. Ditmaal binnen een dag , voorwaar een hele verbetering. Het tweede mailtje dat ik stuurde is ter wellicht benodigde verduidelijking van de eerste. Ik hoop dat u deze ook doorstuurt naar de beslissingsbevoegde(n). Hoe dan ook ben ik van zins al vrij binnenkort over te gaan tot publicatie van het mij tot dusver bekende. Het zou toch mooi zijn als uw bank de komplementen van Klaas kreeg ipv een veeg uit den pan wegens sloom reageren.
