Een digitaal kopietje. Vaak is het doel van een mirror (spiegelbeeld van bepaalde content) om bandbreedteverbruik te drukken, downloads vanaf diverse lokaties te versnellen of gewoon om te zorgen dat deze content beschikbaar blijft indien het origineel plat gaat (zoals vaak gebeurt bij online zaken waarover men liever geen openbaarheid heeft).
